Start with the audience
Chinese pages may help domestic teams evaluate a service, while English pages need clear language for international readers. Edit for the audience rather than translating word for word.
Keep equivalents connected
Give each language a stable URL. A language switch should lead to the equivalent topic. Navigation, buttons and form feedback also need localization.
Maintain page information separately
Titles, summaries and sharing descriptions should reflect the content and language of the actual page.
Track updates
When a product specification changes, record whether its translated version has been updated. Keep unfinished translations as drafts rather than publishing empty pages.
